Ryley Boldon

Coach

Ryley played U SPORTS volleyball at UNB and represented Team NB at the Canada Games in both indoor and beach volleyball. He is a Certified Development Coach and have served as Executive Director, Technical Director, and Vice-President of Volleyball New Brunswick. Ryley's coaching experience includes several years coaching youth, provincial, and university teams.

Ryley believe practices should be high-energy, well-organized, and fun. There is an  expectation that  athletes are to work hard, compete, and challenge themselves every time they step into the gym while making sure they leave looking forward to the next practice. He is also a strong believer in multi-sport participation and the benefits it brings to young athletes.

Ryley considers himself lucky to have been involved in many sports, but the volleyball community in New Brunswick has always stood out. The support, relationships, and willingness of people throughout this community to help one another is very unique. Volleyball has played a big role in his life, and is excited to give back through coaching and help create those same experiences for young athletes.

Christine Powers-Thompsons

Coach

Christine has coached Spartans boys volleyball teams at the 13U, 14U, and 15U levels. She is a former university and Canada Games volleyball athlete (back when volleyballs were white - IYKYK!)

Christine believes that fundamental skills are key; learning, getting better as a team and having fun is the goal; developing versatile athletes pays off in the long run (for them and the program)

One of her favourite volleyball memories was taking first seeded UBC to 5 sets (at the CIAU (USport) Nationals.

Erin Crossland

Coach

Erin spends her days working at UNB and her evenings and weekends at either a field, rink, gym or dance studio for her two kids' sporting events. When the kids don't have sports, we are cheering on the UNB Reds!

She played volleyball at University of Calgary and Mount Royal College prior to moving to NB where she was an assistant coach for the UNB Women's volleyball team for 7 years - winning two AUS Championships.

Erin's coaching style is focused on developing foundational skills, building confidence and encouraging effort and work ethic - No ball goes unchallenged! And hopefully practices are fun too!
